BARRIER products are subject to the most stringent quality control at all production stages. There is a comprehensive inspection for every batch of raw materials and components, using modern laboratory methods of physical and chemical analysis. There is a performance control for every operation during the product manufacturing process. Finally, there is a comprehensive quality control process for finished products conducted randomly, including a laboratory estimate for water treatment efficiency.

BARRIER filters, unlike their foreign counterparts, have been designed with regard to specific features of water in Russia (high concentration of inorganic iron, high chlorination unlike Europe where the water is ionized).

BARRIER filters are produced from materials supplied by leading manufacturers for the chemical and pharmaceutical industries. These suppliers include BASF high quality plastic (allowed for contact with food products); Norit coconut activated charcoal (coal made of coconut shell, Sri Lanka) featured with better absorption properties than conventional activated charcoal; and Bayer high quality ion exchange resin.

BARRIER filters have a number of Russian and international certificates, confirming their enhanced quality by national standard.

Among the Russian certificates, BARRIER has earned the Certificate of Conformity issued by the Russian Institute for Consumer Tests (RICT).

2007 – after independent testing, the BARRIER Grand pitcher filter and a BARRIER-4 Standard replaceable filter cartridge has issued the Certificate of Conformity by RICT;

2008 – voluntary testing of a BARRIER Grand pitcher filter and a BARRIER-4 Standard replaceable filter cartridge were conducted by institute experts (RICT) in accordance with the advanced quality requirements, more strict than requirements of current national standards and sanitary regulations and standards.

BARRIER also posesses international certificates from the Quality Management Certificate - ISO 9000:2000. The ISO 9001:2000 Certificate is an official document confirming the company’s activities for product manufacturing which is organized in compliance with international quality standards. In addition, this certificate serves for material prestige enhancement and it is treated as a competitive advantage.

2007 – METTEM-Technologies company obtained an ISO 9001:2000 certificate for their quality management system, manufacturing processes and sales of BARRIER household point-of-use water treatment filters and replaceable filter cartridges.

2007 - BARRIER filters were the only filters in Russia awarded with a certificate of conformity based on U.S. quality standards using the NSF standards.

BARRIER filters are recognized by International Water Association (IWA).
